MILTON, Vt. (WCAX) Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire at a home on Trayah Drive in Milton.

Fire officials say it started around 5 a.m. Friday and the home owner woke up to flames. The Milton Fire Department says all the occupants got out okay.

The Red Cross says it is assisting the one adult and six children displaced by the fire.

Officials believe the fire started on the front porch of the home and say there is significant damage to the home.

The fire was quickly contained when crews arrived on scene. Crews from Colchester, Georgia assisted in putting out the flames.

The fire chief says high winds may have helped the fire spread.
