Kuster speaks out on sexual harassment

LEBANON, N.H. (WCAX) New Hampshire Congresswoman Annie Kuster has publicly shared her personal story of being sexually assaulted when she was in college.

Rep. Annie Kuster

Now, the Democrat is speaking out about sexual misconduct both across the country and in Washington.

"I don't care if it is a waitress or retail, if it's in health care or the halls of the United States Congress, women should be treated with respect and should be able to work in an environment that is not degrading and that is safe," Kuster said.

Wednesday, legislation passed that Kuster co-sponsored that would require all members of Congress and their staffs to receive sexual harassment training. North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Vermont Congressman Peter Welch also co-sponsored that bill.
