BERLIN, Vt. (AP) Residents of one of the largest mobile home parks in Vermont are deciding whether they should buy it and run it themselves.
Residents of Weston's Mobile Home Park in Berlin will decide on Nov. 29 whether to approve the purchase of the privately owned lot into a "resident-owned community." The Times Argus reports officials are hoping to finish the purchase by the end of the year.
Cooperative Development Institute consultant Annik Paul says she has been helping an interim board of residents explore the potential purchase for much of the year, and a final purchase seems likely at this point.
Park owner Ellery Packard has asked the town to expedite a process to create subdivisions in the park before the Nov. 29 meeting.
