NY man who tried to rescue paddleboarder died of heart attack

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (WCAX) We are learning more about the man who died trying to save someone else on Mirror Lake.

The Essex County coroner confirmed Colin Plumadore of Saranac died from a heart attack. He did not drown.

Authorities say Plumadore was rowing on Mirror Lake with his daughter Monday when tried to help a stand-up paddleboarder who had fallen into the water. They say he overexerted himself and fell into the lake.
