Plattsburgh invites developers to submit ideas for waterfront

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) What will Plattsburgh's waterfront look like?

Mayor Colin Read is asking developers to submit ideas to redevelop 11 acres near Dock Street.

The mayor says he's open to hotels, aquatic centers and anything to bring people, particularly younger people, to the downtown area.

"There's all kinds of partnerships or ideas we can do with that space but we do want to make sure it's accessible to the public, that people can use it and call it their own. There aren't many places in the Lake City that people can easily get to the lake and we definitely want that place to be one of them," said Read, D-Plattsburgh.

The deadline for those submissions is Aug. 3. Click here for all the details.
