ROYALTON, Vt. (WCAX) A Vermont principal is facing charges for allegedly videotaping a student in a bathroom.
Dean Stearns, 55, of Sharon, is the principal at South Royalton School. Vermont State Police say they received a call Wednesday from an underage girl who had used the bathroom at Stearns' residence, claiming that she had been videotaped.
In court paperwork, police say Stearns told them he found the girl attractive and had placed three secret cameras: one that looked like a phone charger, one that looked like a clock and one that looked like a nightlight.
Stearns was in court Thursday afternoon and pleaded not guilty to charges of voyeurism and possession of child pornography.
Police say at this time there is no evidence of other victims but that they are still investigating.
White River Valley Supervisory Union officials say Stearns has been placed on administrative leave.
