RehabGym in Williston to sell CBD balms for pain relief

WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) Wellness centers across Vermont are now turning to natural products to treat their patients.

RehabGYM in Williston is now selling and using cannabidiol, also known as CBD, balms to treat patients for pain relief. The compound is found in marijuana but doesn't get you high.

RehabGYM was approached by Elmore Mountain Therapeutics, a new business that sells CBD oils and balms. Distributors say the compound can help with pain, anxiety and symptoms of cancer.

Sharon Gutwin, the owner of RehabGYM, says it's about time the industry turns to natural products for pain relief.

"Pain is very real," she said. "Anything that we can do to help a person's pain physically, and or mentally should be explored. This is a natural product. You can't get addicted to it. You can't overdose on it."

Gutwin says her gym is the only therapy office to use CBD during treatment in the state. She, too, uses CBD and says she hopes to incorporate even more natural products. So far, the owner says interest in the products have been slow but expects it to pick up over the next couple of months.
