SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) A Catholic high school turns 100-years-old this year.

Cathedral High School, now called Rice Memorial, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The South Burlington school held events all weekend, which included a race. The race was named the "RJ Run" after long time educator and track and field coach RJ Noonan. Noonan was on hand to start the race.

"Rice is thriving, it is alive. The students are full of character and are very driven. You feel it in the halls and that is what makes the spirit of Rice. It is a community. It is a family," said Lisa Lorenz

Even in his 80's, Noonan still substitute teaches at Rice. He will be this week's Super Senior. That airs Thursday night on the Channel 3 News at six.
