WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) Sen. Bernie Sanders traveled to Williston Thursday to highlight the work at a Department of Energy-funded site used to test solar panels.

The Regional Test Center is run by the Sandia National Laboratories and is one of five facilities around the country that test solar photovoltaic systems. According to the RTC's website, Vermont's wet, humid and cold climate is the ideal place to test PV components and systems. Sanders helped secure $3 million in 2013 to get the project up and running.
