Sounding the alarm in Williamstown

WILLIAMSTOWN, Vt. Fire prevention was in full focus this weekend in Williamstown.

A community of volunteers, including cadets from Norwich University, successfully installed 466 free smoke alarms for residents throughout the town. The effort was part of the Red Cross's "Sound the Alarm" campaign. It was the largest number of installs for one day in both VT and New Hampshire. A similar event was held in Rutland last week.
