BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) Folks in Burlington got to have the best of both worlds Sunday morning.
It was Switchback's Sip and Stretch event. Around 30 people took the yoga class, featuring poses like downward dog and the cat-cow position for about an hour that morning. An instructor from Soulshine Power Yoga focused the practice on digestion, detoxification and mindful eating. After the class, the group enjoyed a beer of their choice. The brewery hosts the event once a month, but this class was a special event part of Vermont Restaurant Week.
"We think it's a great way to start your Sunday morning. You get out for an hourlong yoga class, and then you finish up with a pint or a flight at your local brewery, and then you got the rest of the day to get on the bike path, or go hike a mountain, or walk your dog, so it just makes sense," said the taproom manager Sarah Diaz.
The class cost $20 per person. Proceeds went to the Vermont Food Bank.
