SHELBURNE, Vt. (WCAX) Three people are safe after being rescued from their capsized boat in Shelburne Bay Wednesday.

Three passengers say another boater spotted them when their catamaran sailboat flipped over.

The Shelburne Fire Department and Coast Guard responded and towed the boat back to shore.

A passenger on board said they didn't have much boating experience.
"I think the biggest issue we had is that we just over-loaded the vessel. What happened is that it flipped over frontwards, it didn't go sideways," said one person on the boat.

Everyone on board was wearing life jackets and no one was hurt.
