Vt. Guard members return from U.S. Virgin Islands

COLCHESTER, Vt. (WCAX) It was an exciting Friday afternoon for some families welcoming home Vermont National Guard members.

The 21 soldiers and airmen touched down at the Burlington Airport around noon on Friday. They are medical professionals, including nurses, medics and doctors that were helping provide aid from the recent hurricanes.

Another 24 soldiers will remain in the Virgin Islands using Black Hawk helicopters to run medevac missions.
