BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) The Barre woman killed in a murder-suicide last week died from multiple gunshot wounds according to the Vermont medical examiner.

Police rushed to 29-year-old Courtney Gaboriault's Long Street home last Wednesday morning after reports of gunfire. After arriving, they say Gaboriault stumbled outside and died a short time later. Her autopsy report released Monday indicates she died from gunshot wounds to the head and torso.

Her ex-boyfriend, 30-year-old Luke LaCroix, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Gaboriault worked for the Vt. Department of Public Safety. Officials there have said grief counselors will be available for staff members for the next couple of weeks.
