What you need to know about the Equifax data breach

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) It was a massive data breach. Earlier this month the credit reporting agency Equifax announced the personal information of more than 143 million Americans was stolen. The breach went on from May through July.

The hack included 240,000 Vermonters whose details like names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and some driver's license numbers may have been stolen.
