CVU Boys, U-32 Girls Claim Lax Titles

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) The CVU boys and U-32 girls captured lacrosse state titles Saturday afternoon at UVM's Virtue Field.

CVU was the top seed in Boys Division 1 and played like it in a comfortable 16-6 win over BFA-St. Albans. The Redhawks raced out to a 5-1 lead and tallied the last three goals of the first half to cruise to the victory. It's their 6th straight state title and ninth overall.

The U-32 girls avenged last season's loss to Green Mountain Valley School with a 9-8 win in the D-2 Girls Lacrosse Championship. The Raiders exploded for the first three goals of the second half to break a 6-6 tie and then held off a potent GMVS team for the win. It's U-32's second state title in five years and third all-time.
