The UVM men's basketball team entered this season with a reputation as one of the rising mid-major programs in the country. On Monday, additional proof that the Cats national reputation is growing.
Vermont received a vote in the Associated Press national Top 25 poll, coming from bestselling author and sportswriter John Feinstein, who tabbed the Catamounts as the 25th best team in the country. Feinstein also gave the Cats a Top 25 vote late in last season's polls.
After starting this season with a four point loss to now seventh ranked Kentucky, the Cats have run off five straight wins. The most recent, a 79-73 victory over Yale Saturday in New Haven. Anthony Lamb had his second twenty point game of the season, leading the team with 22 points and seven rebounds. Payton Henson added 19 points, Ernie Duncan twelve and Trae Bell-Haynes had six points and matched a career high with ten assists.
The Cats will play the second of a tough five game road trip Wednesday night when they visit Richmond.
