BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) The UVM men's basketball program honored its winningest coach and then dominated Siena to end its three-game losing streak Monday night at Patrick Gym. With the victory, the Cats move to 7-4 on the year.
The evening started with a ceremony to dedicate the court to Tom Brennan. Brennan coached the Cats from 1986 to 2005, winning 264 career games and three America East Conference championships. Brennan's signature was painted onto the court, and his grandchildren got to reveal it to a packed house.
As for the game itself, six Catamounts reached double figures in the easy win. Drew Urquhart led Vermont with 13 points, while Everett Duncan posted a career high 12 on four-of-four shooting from beyond the arc. Trae Bell-Haynes also returned from his concussion to add ten.
Vermont returns to the road Saturday as they take on St. Bonaventure in Rochester.
