BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) The Middlebury girls lacrosse team rallied from a 4-0 deficit to edge CVU and the Harwood boys cruised past U-32 to claim lacrosse titles Friday evening at UVM's Virtue Field.
It's the second straight title for the Tigers and the first for the Highlanders since 2010.
"I think that's something that's really awesome about this team this year is how supportive we've been of each other," said Middlebury's Isabel Rosenberg. "Both offense, defense, transition. It's really just about working together and you know we brought the fire this year and it paid off."
"We had that goal from day one, in the gym, when we were bouncing balls off the wall," said Harwood's Hunter Wimble. "We wanted that state championship. From last year, coming up short, gave us that extra drive. We really worked hard for that and we weren't going to let any team get in our way of this one this year."
