Rutland and Mill River Take Cheer Crowns

VERGENNES, Vt. (WCAX) Cheerleading titles up for grabs Saturday night in Vergennes.

We start in Division 2. A close race for 3rd, but Fair Haven postsed a score of 142, just two points in front of Enosburg. The Slaters claimed the Number-3 spot.

BFA-St. Albans turned in the 2nd-best performance in D-2. BFA earned a score of 148, six points in front of 3rd.

But there was no catching Mill River. The Minutemen turned in an outstanding score of 175 to claim the top spot. Mill River is the Division 2 state champion.

In Division 1, Mount Anthony worked its way into the Top 3. The Patriots' score of 147, good enough for 3rd place.

The Essex Hornets held off Mount Anthony for 2nd. Their routine scored an even 150, as they took the runner-up spot.

But once again, the Division 1 title is going back to Rutland. The Raiders with a state-best 186 points, as they brought home yet another state championship.
