Vermont, New Hampshire Split Make-A-Wish Hockey Honors

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) Vermont and New Hampshire split the Make-A-Wish Hockey Classic games at Gutterson Fieldhouse Saturday, with the Granite State girls claiming a 4-2 win and the Green Mountain Boys finding a winner with just 25 seconds to play in their 2-1 victory.

Andi Boe of Middlebury put Vermont on top in the opening game of the doubleheader, but New Hampshire scored the next three via Ashley Keavaney, Hanover's Hannah Curtis, and Julia Tibbits of Lebanon in their 4-2 triumph.

In the nightcap, New Hampshire struck first through Phil Tsoukalas, but Vermont responded with goals from a couple of Woodstock Wasps. Steven Townley leveled the game with a top corner snipe in the second before his high school teammate Cullen McCarthy poked one in with just 25 seconds to go to give Vermont its second straight win in the series.
