Wright's contract not picked up by Revs

Monday, November 27th

The New England Revolution have decided not to pick up the contract option on former UVM star Brian Wright, which means Wright can sign with any Major League Soccer club.

New England selected Wright with the 20th overall pick in the 2017 Superdraft after a standout career at Vermont, where Brian finished as the second all-time leading scorer, and was a semifinalist for national player of the year as a senior.

Wright made five appearances for the Revolution in his rookie MLS season. Three of them came in the U-S Open Cup competition, including a Round of 16 match with D-C United where Wright scored his first professional goal.

Brian also made two regular season appearances for the Revs as a substitute and played in three games on loan with the Tulsa Roughnecks of the United Soccer League.
