Lebanon School District Asks to Keep School Open

Lebanon, New Hampshire - March 26, 2009

The Lebanon School District plans to ask the state to let them keep the middle school open for another year.

State regulators have numerous safety concerns about the building and granted a last-minute waiver to let it open just prior to the start of the school year.

Plans for a new school were shot down by voters earlier this month and without another waiver the district won't have a middle school next year.

Lebanon school officials say if they do not get another waiver and voters don't approve the money, that would delay the closing of School Street School and Sacred Heart School.
