The Vermont Commons School in South Burlington has a new headmaster.
Peter Gilmore becomes the third person to hold the title in the school's 12-year history. Vermont Commons is an independent school for students in grades seven through 12. The college prep school is unique and focuses on community service. And the new headmaster hopes to expand on that.
"This school is at the very cutting edge of what we talk about as being important in education these days, and experiential learning is a huge part of what many schools are looking at," Gilmore said.
Gilmore comes to Vermont from Baltimore.
Ninety-six students currently attend the Vermont Commons school.
