Sheriff: Underage Drinking at Fire Dept. Party

Chelsea, Vermont - July 27, 2009

Authorities say there was underage drinking at the Chelsea Fire Department's 125th anniversary party. Sheriff Bill Bohnyak says five minors were ticketed for possessing alcohol. One man is accused of assaulting a police officer. Another allegedly drove drunk in the parking lot.

Sheriff Bohnyak says none of the people ticketed or arrested is on the fire department. Police found no evidence that alcohol purchased for the event was intended for minors.
