A man wanted for a shooting in West Windsor has been taken into custody.
Today police captured Bill Burch, 77, after a search of the woods in West Windsor that began last night.
The search started after a dispute between neighbors allegedly ended in gunfire. Police say a neighbor returned to his Hammond Hill Road home to find Burch used sawhorses and wood to try to block that neighbor's driveway and a verbal confrontation erupted. After the fight, the neighbor heard gun shots from Burch's home that he believed were aimed at his home. Burch fled the scene on an ATV.
A SWAT team searched the area all night. At about 11 a.m. today, a state game warden found Burch walking about 2 miles from his home. He was taken into custody without incident.
Burch was taken to the hospital to be treated for a fall he had overnight. After he is released he will be booked on aggravated assault charges.
Jack Thurston will have much more on this story tonight on the Channel 3 News at 6 p.m.
