Montpelier, Vermont - November 6, 2009

Trash and recycling depots in Central Vermont could be forced to shut down this winter because of a lack of funding.

The Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District continues to operate in the red-- despite raising fees on trash haulers nearly 50%. Now the district is looking to reduce expenses by possibly turning over the transfer stations to towns or haulers.
