Escaped Inmate May be in Connecticut

Unity, New Hampshire - November 20, 2009

An inmate who escaped from the Sullivan County jail could be in Connecticut.

Robert Hale, 45, of Claremont, N.H., broke out of prison early Thursday morning. Now investigators say he could be in Colchester, Conn., driving a gray Chevy truck with New Hampshire plates.

Police say Hale carved a hole in the ceiling of his cell with a piece of construction debris. He apparently worked on the hole for some time and concealed it with toothpaste.

Hale was in prison awaiting trial for allegedly robbing a Claremont gas station.
