Skip Vallee Considering GOP Governor's Run

Burlington, Vermont - November 24, 2009

Another candidate may enter the 2010 Vermont Governor's race, and it's not a Democrat.

South Burlington native Skip Vallee is thinking about throwing his hat in the GOP race. So far, Lieutenant Governor Brian Dubie is the only Republican vying for the spot.

Vallee used to own RL Vallee Energy and was a fundraiser for President Bush. A year ago he returned from a two-year stint as the U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia.

Five Democrats are already in the race: Secretary of State Deb Markowitz, Senators Doug Racine and Susan Bartlett, Senate President Pro Tem Peter Shumlin and former Senator Matt Dunne.
