Montpelier, Vermont - November 24, 2009
A plan to bring deployed troops home for the holidays is coming together.
About 700 Vermont soldiers will leave for training in Indiana next month, in advance of their mission to Afghanistan.
They get time off for Christmas and a non-profit group will make sure they can get home to spend time with their families.
Operation Holiday Homecoming announced this morning it has reached its $200,000 fundraising goal. That will pay for charter buses to bring the troops home a few days before Christmas.
