Richmond Police Officer Resigns, Cites Chief as Reason

Richmond, Vermont - November 26, 2009

Another shake-up in the town of Richmond. Police officer Sarah Messier has officially resigned her post, saying she's leaving because of a personality issue with Chief Joe Miller.

Messier was placed on administrative leave in May. Chief Miller also resigned earlier this year, but last month withdrew his resignation because of strong public outcry. Three other local officials have resigned this year alone, including the town administrator. Officials say his replacement will be announced within the next few days.
