South Burlington, Vermont - November 27, 2009
Shoppers at the University Mall can get their gifts wrapped and help the homeless at the same time.
The gift wrap station is right next to Santa and benefits the Burlington Emergency Shelter. It takes 250 volunteers to run this booth during the holiday season. Even the booth itself is a testament to helping people get back on their feet.
"The man who built it is a really good instance of that. He's totally turned his life around. He's a finish carpenter. He built the booth for us last years and we're able to use it again this year," said Malissa Rivoire of the Burlington Emergency Shelter.
Volunteers say they'll wrap anything from a small ring box to a television or refrigerator.
The mall donates the space so all the money raised goes to the shelter.
