Saranac Lake, New York - March 25, 2010
The principal of two Catholic schools in northern New York has been dismissed after pleading guilty to drunk driving.
Police arrested Anne Bayruns, 44, last August, saying her blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.
She was the principal at St. Bernard's Catholic School in Saranac Lake and St. Agnes School in Lake Placid.
Last week Bayruns pleaded guilty to drunk driving.
Thursday morning the school council announced Bayruns' firing on direct orders from the bishop.
