BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a woman charged with embezzling $180,000 from two employers in New Hampshire and Vermont has been sentenced to more than a year in prison.

The office of the United State's attorney for Vermont says 43-year-old Melanie McDonald of Thetford was sentenced to 18 months in prison on Monday after pleading guilty to transporting stolen money between the two states.

Court records say McDonald was charged with embezzling from Dowd's Country Inn of Lyme, N.H., and Wilder Business Services, in Wilder, while she served as part-time bookkeeper between 2001 and 2006.

She pleaded guilty in 2007 to stolen property charges.
