Vermonters Ready to Rally for Reproductive Rights

Burlington, Vermont - April 24, 2004

Abortion rights advocates are gearing up for a historic march on Washington.

Saturday night, hundreds of activists from around Vermont packed into buses bound for the nation's capital. They are joining thousands of like-minded advocates tomorrow in what is expected to be the largest-ever reproductive rights march.

"I think the Bush administration is chipping away at a woman's right to choose," said Keith Rosenthal, who is participating in the Abortion Rights March.

"I think it's important that we remember how important the right to pro-choice is. So I want to remind people, and the Bush administration," said Nikki Neimann, who is also traveling to D.C.

The National Right to Life Committee has downplayed tomorrow's march --countering that abortion supporters are out of touch with mainstream America.
