Costco has dropped plans to build a gas station outside its warehouse in Colchester.
Last year the company proposed installing six pumps. But many neighboring gas stations complained the wholesale discount retailer could sell gas much cheaper than they could. Neighboring residents also raised environmental concerns.
The project also includes a 14,000 square foot addition to their current building. Company officials say they are eager to move along with the expansion project, so they dropped the controversial gas pump idea.
