Quechee, Vermont - June 2, 2009
Authorities in the Upper Valley are investigating a large gun theft.
Investigators say just after eleven o'clock last night, thieves broke into Barrows Trading Post on Route 4 in Quechee. Several handguns were taken.
Police do not have any suspects or leads at this time.
"Any time you have guns stolen you don't know what the intent is. Whether to resell them or to use them in a crime that is why we are particularly interested in this case," said Hartford Police Chief Glenn Cutting.
A $2,500 reward is being offered to information leading to the recovery of the stolen guns, and the arrest and conviction of persons responsible for the thefts.
