Morrisville, Vermont - July 10, 2009
A new state truck is on the road to help provide more local meat to folks.
It's Vermont's first mobile poultry processing unit, designed and purchased by the state Agriculture Agency. The 36-foot trailer can travel to poultry farms to allow on-site slaughter, cleaning, inspection and packaging. That saves farmers the huge expense of having their birds processed out of state. Spring Hill Poultry Processing, in Morrisville, will be operating the truck. Farmers just need to provide an on-site supply to certified potable water.
For more information, or to schedule your birds, call George Eisenhardt at (802) 888-7228.
