Troopers Will Pay for Excessive Force

Middlebury, Vermont - August 31, 2009

The Vermont State Police is paying a New York man six figures to settle an excessive force case.

Kevin Farnan of Petersburgh, New York claims Troopers Brian Turner and Eric Howley tased him and broke several bones in his face four years ago during a dispute at the West Mountain Inn in Arlington.

Today the state agreed to pay Farnan $135,000.
