Matt Henson

Matt Henson covers New York for WCAX based out of the station's Plattsburgh bureau. Matt joined the WCAX News Team in June of 2004, weeks after graduating from Lyndon State College.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Television Broadcasting, Associate Degree in Television Production and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While at Lyndon, Matt was an anchor, reporter and producer for the Academy Award-winning college television station "News 7." While at News 7, Matt won two Academy Awards from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. In 2003, Matt was awarded third place for "Best College Television Production" and took home first place in the same category in 2004.

After college, Matt was hired as producer of the Channel 3 News morning show. He was an early riser until March of 2009, when he was promoted to Assignment Manager. In the summer of 2010 he became a reporter.

Matt grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He roots for all the sports teams there, except the Flyers. Matt is a diehard Penguins fan and loves Penn State football. When he is not at work, Matt is very competitive and enjoys playing any sport (it earned him a spot in the LSC intramural Hall of Fame).

Matt lives in South Burlington with his wife Kristin and cats Ziggy and Miley.
