We've all seen Kris Engstrom's great ideas for holiday decorating, but sometimes when you try to do it yourself, it doesn't look quite the same! Tonight, Kris is going to teach us some basics on how to put together a beautiful, holiday table display!
"The first thing that we're going to do, is establish the dimension of our arrangement. This is the basic skeleton of the arrangement, and in this case, we're using these curly willow branches as a frame.
And after that, the next step, is to start fleshing it out, and we're going to use an assortment of greens to do that. Keep it balanced and keep it even.
The essential qualities of this arrangement really look better is you use a good assortment of greens and you distribute them all around the arrangement. Different textures, different smells, different types of things that just make it more interesting.
As we're putting in our last touches, in this little bouquet, it's all of these little finishing things that are the interest. This is the stuff that makes it uniquely yours, and that gives it a little bit of fun. The winterberry is great, but see I wanted to use this little cardinal, so he's just going to end up like he's having a little winter feast right here.
The moss adds some little natural touches, and also fills in some spaces. And cones are always wonderful,.they're the best."
Keeping in mind different textures, different shades of green, different colors, different scents, and keeping it all balanced, and you should have a fabulous display you created yourself!
