Gift Ideas for Nature Lovers

Once again, Bridget Butler is here with us to help us with our holiday shopping for our nature loving friends! From local art, to gift ideas for the technology geeks in your family!

"There are a bunch of different applications that are out available now, for Iphones and Ipod Touches. A lot of different things, anywhere from field guides, on your Ipod Touch, to maps to help to show you where the birds are, to bird songs, and bird calls. So you can have all of that, right in your pocket now, along with your phone."

"Here's another one that will get you a little bit of bird music, this is from the Cornell lab of Ornithology, and this is a beautiful set of gift cards. This is a cat bird and when you open it, you can get a little bit of the sound of that bird."

Another idea, is a bag you can use over and over again.

"So, you buy all of these gifts, you've got something to stuff them in, and save on the wrapping paper, and you can use it again and again. It's another gift as well."

"Some other things you might stuff in that bag, are things from local artists, and I always like to support those folks in our community. These are some pieces that I found locally for under $100 each. This is from an artist, her name is Jess Graham, she's from up in Wolcott, Vermont. And what I like about her, is that she used recycled materials, so she'll recycle plywood, and these are little pins and magnets that are made from bottle caps."

" And these two acrylic paintings by Terry Sheets, she's an artist from up in Alburg, and I got both of these paintings for under $100 each. So there is wonderful, affordable art out there, to bring nature inside, and make a special gift for someone in your family."
