Rutland, Vermont - March 29, 2010
A Rutland dental surgeon faces a lawsuit alleging he drugged and raped a New York woman.
Dr. Peter Gray has been reprimanded twice in the past five years and had his license temporarily revoked for illegally using drugs on numerous occasions. In 2005, Gray's license was reprimanded and placed under conditions after he admitted to giving drugs to a patient after hours, using cocaine in his office and injecting himself with an unprescribed painkiller. Then in 2007, his license was revoked for a year after he tested positive for the painkiller fentanyl.
Now a South Glens Falls woman, who says she met Gray through an online dating service, says he gave her a drugged cocktail at his home last April and then had sex with her even though she objected. She is now suing him on multiple allegations and is seeking unspecified damaged.
Gray's lawyers filed a counterclaim denying the allegations.
