Colchester, Vermont - July 5, 2010 (AP)
The body of a Vermont National Guard soldier killed in Afghanistan is back in the United States.
The guard says the body of Spc. Ryan Grady arrived at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware on Sunday night. There's no word on yet on funeral plans.
Grady was killed Friday when the vehicle he was riding in was hit by a roadside bomb near Bagram Air Force Base. Four other Vermont soldiers were wounded in the same explosion.
About 1,500 Vermont National Guardsmen are currently serving in Afghanistan. A statement from Grady's platoon in Afghanistan said he was like a big brother to many other soldiers and he was known for his regular comment, "just another day in paradise."
