COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont National Guard says its helicopters are going to be flying more than normal this week.
The extra flight time for the helicopter crews of the Air Medical Evacuation Company is in preparation for the unit's upcoming deployment to Iraq.
The Guard says the helicopters will be training at airfields in South Burlington, Colchester, Rutland, Bennington, Springfield, Middlebury and Basin Harbor. The training is meant to simulate separated forward operating bases like those they will use overseas.
The extra training flights will be conducted through Sunday.
