MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas, who's in the Mideast this week with a delegation of four other U.S. governors, spent a second day in Iraq and also visited troops in Kuwait.
Spokesman David Coriell says Douglas visited Joint Base Balad in Iraq, touring a combat hospital and the Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility, where wounded service members prepare to be flown out of country for treatment.
In Kuwait, the governors Thursday visited Camp Arifjan, where they met with soldiers from the 164th Transportation Battalion of the Massachusetts Army National Guard.
