Secretive lawsuit brings lawsuit

Hartford, Vermont - August 2, 2010

The ACLU is suing the town of Hartford on behalf of a journalist.

Anne Galloway, of the web site Vermont Digger, has been asking the town for records relating to the arrest of an African-American man in May, but the town has refused to release the records. Hartford police allegedly beat Wayne Burwell and dragged him from his home.

The ACLU is hoping to force the town to release information about the arrest.
