Prosecutors highlight Jacques' sexual predator history
Burlington, Vermont - August 20, 2010
Federal prosecutors continue to build their case against accused killer Michael Jacques.
Jacques allegedly raped and murdered 12-year-old Brooke Bennett of Braintree in 2008.
Federal prosecutors now want Jacques' history as a sexual predator to be outlined for jurors if and when the case goes to trial, saying it's justification for the death penalty. However Jacques' lawyers say any testimony about his criminal history should be barred because it would demonize him in the eyes of jurors.
