Alden Pellett is a Producer for WCAX, joining the team in September 2010. He previously worked for many years as a freelance photojournalist, his work appearing in news publications such as TIME, Newsweek, USA Today, Boston Globe, NY Times, LA Times, and also working as a stringer for the Associated Press wire for over 10 years. His writing has been published in magazines and newspapers such as the Boston Globe, Yankee Magazine, Vermont Life, Climbing Magazine, Vermont Sports, and others. Prior to full-time freelancing, Pellett worked as a photojournalist for the Burlington Free Press.
Pellett loves the outdoors; spending time at home gardening or hiking a nearby peak with his wife or scaling a steep cliff in some remote mountain range. He is an avid rock climber and an expert-level ice climber who has traveled around the U.S., the Canadian Rockies, Newfoundland, and the French Alps to ascend big routes. He can often be found on an icy cliff in Smuggler's Notch or at Lake Willoughby during his free time in winter.
Pellett grew up in Vermont and while well-traveled has lived here for over 40 years, more than 20 years of that working in journalism.
