Police: St. Albans woman kidnapped, sexually assaulted boy

St. Albans, Vermont - November 11, 2010

A St. Albans woman is facing a laundry list of charges for allegedly holding an 11-year-old boy in her home.

Police say the parents of the boy believed their son had gone to the home of Misty Smith, 34, on Nason Street Tuesday afternoon, but when they went to get him, Smith denied the boy was there.

Police went to Smith's home and got the same answer. But when officers heard noise coming from upstairs, they entered the home and found the boy in a bedroom.

Smith is now charged with kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault on a child and numerous other charges.
